Nineteen years is a long time – enough time to create a sense of heritage and legacy (and a world class collection of hub caps). For 2013, the Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour will celebrate its nineteenth year. We’ve been on every last one of them and this year will be no different.
Over the last nineteen years we’ve grown a lot (and not just around our midsections). The Mothers® and Hot Rod Magazine brands have also grown over the years but one thing has remained constant – the Power Tour is and always has been a rolling showcase of hot rod hardware. Not to mention one helluva a fun, rolling party to boot!
As is befitting a road trip/car show/party of this nature we need to make sure to come correct. And we’re not just talking about bringing Ken, Forrest and their stylish headgear either. Once again our Mothers® Big Rig and crew will be present at every stop dispensing with giveaways, tech seminars and some of our finest car care products. For those of you who like to watch (who are we to judge) we will drop our cherry Corvette ZR-1 and “ProPane” Chevelle atop the sweet sundae that is the Mothers® Big Rig display.
Since Power Tour is about driving these cars we plan to do just that with some of our cool rides as well. We debuted our 2013 Mothers® Mustang RTR Spec 3 at last year’s SEMA Show and now we’re taking it on the Tour – all 650hp of it. Our somewhat “milder” Mustang RTR Spec 2 will also be on rumbling along every single leg.
Are you looking for a good time? Well sorry to disappoint you, but we aren’t that kind of car care company. But if you want to have a good time on the road then get out and get on the Power Tour with us.
Don’t worry if you can’t make it, we won’t judge you too harshly (although Forrest might give you a sideways glance). We’ll have daily updates, um every day right here on this very blog.
Remember you can’t wax off without waxing on first.
