Introduction
“The Crossroads”
Looking back through my files, I found the
daily stories I sent via e-mail to a few friends
and co-workers from the 1995 Power Tour.
Yeah, 1995. Do you remember those days back in the last millennium? Dial
up internet with a 28.8K modem? Cameras that shot film?
Gas for less than $1.00 per gallon? No gray hair?
Yeah, those were the good ol’ days. And
we’ll never see ’em again.
I just finished walking around the warehouse, and I’m lost lost in my thoughts and memories of Power Tours
gone past - fast cars, cheap gas,
good friends and memorable (and a few forgettable) meals. And lost trying to figure out what to drive.
I’ve done the Tour in 4
cylinders, 8 cylinders, and even no cylinders (a rotary). Superchargers, turbochargers been there, done that.
I’ve went fast, went slow, across the desert and
through the snow. Been there. Done that some more. And written enough for a book.
But now, after fourteen years of Tours, I’m stuck. I can’t figure out
what to drive.
Whilst I ponder the meaning of life, and what suitable wheeled conveyance fits my station in life, sit back and read the stories from years past.
I’ll
be back in a short time with a four wheeled rocket that’ll knock your socks off, and this year’s installment of the Mothers®
coverage of the Hot Rod Power Tour.
Go big, or go home. I’m planning on going 150. Come along for the ride if you dare.
Your humble and
obedient servant,
Forrest Tosie
