“Old Age Strikes Again”

Boy, do I feel embarrassed.

I had a 6:40 AM flight on Saturday to make it back for two graduation parties for nieces - one high school and one college.

Things can be a little slow at the Little Rock airport, so I took a cab at 5:15 AM. I made the plane with 15 minutes to spare, and had a great time at the parties.

That's the good news.

In my rush to get out of town, I misplaced my secret piece of paper (actually a cocktail napkin from the hotel bar) with 2008's Tour schedule - dates and cities. I tore my backpack, suitcase and dirty clothes apart, to no avail.

I remember bits and pieces - some of the cities (start in Little Rock, then to Springfield MO, Topeka KS, Lincoln NE and Sioux Falls SD, and ending up in Madison WI), but I'm missing a city or two, and I'm at a blank for the dates.

Suffice it to say some time in 2008.

If I find that elusive napkin, I'll update it here.

This old age stuff is no fun, I forget lots and gravity is slowly winning the battle.

As for the Tour, we had a great time. I'm sorry the M6 didn't make it, but the RX8 did just fine. At times it was awkward driving a car with no cylinders, surrounded by lots of 8, and even some 10 -cylinder cars, but I think the RX8 acquitted itself just dandy. I doubt any car there was capable of taking corners like the RX8 did.

ProPane is doing well, thank you. Folks are still talking about that 1,000+ horsepower motor that runs on propane, and I'm confident it'll receive lots of press up through SEMA this fall. Count on seeing it back on the Tour next year, when we drive it.

Who knows what I'll drive in 2008. I'm more interested in finding that missing cocktail napkin with 2008's route at the moment. But, I guarantee it'll be fun. And fast.

To all my friends, readers, and Power Tourers, thanks for putting up with my on-stage antics; taking pix while driving, and just being me. To my family, thanks for still wanting me back home.

The Hot Rod Power Tour is a labor of love. I love doing it, but it's more labor than I do the rest of the year.

I wouldn't have it any other way.

Remember the wise saying I left you with a few years ago - it personifies my goal for life in general: "The joy is not in the destination, but in the journey."

Your humble and obedient servant,

Forrest Tosie
