Epilogue

7:00 am Sunday, May 18th, 1997. We drop the Nova off at Reliable Carriers in Detroit. Reliable will be transporting the Nova back to
Mothers®. Forrest Tosie drops us off at the Detroit Airport. He has a very long drive back to St. Louis. We board
an 8:50 am flight home. Our non-stop, cross-country Power Tour party is officially over.
As we travel home I wonder what makes the Power Tour so remarkable. Is it simply the cars? No, it’s much more.

It’s the people. . .

It’s the places. . .

. . . and it’s what makes America unique.

For those of you who took the time to read our Power Tour journal, we thank you. For those of you who followed along with the daily,
first-draft updates, you have our sympathy. Though the original text reflected the true exhaustive, epic nature of our adventure, spelling and grammar did occasionally suffer.

We also want to thank the Minolta Corporation for loaning us a brand new digital
Dimage V camera. As you can see, it worked flawlessly.

A special thanks to all those people who came out to see us during the Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour. We even had one
concerned lady (after asking if I was the one who updated the web site) tell me, “good work son, but I think you need to get some rest.”

And of course, we want to thank our cheerful little friend, Jack. He now holds a special place of honor in my pencil cup at work.

And finally, thanks to Hot Rod Magazine for understanding just how much fun it can be to sit behind the wheel of a really
cool car no matter how old you are.
