8:00 am. Good morning America and welcome to Goodland, Kansas. Want to know where Goodland is? Then run out and
get this informative brochure, “Goodland on the top side of Kansas.” Let’s see. . . top side, inside, outside and
backside. Yes, they’ve got it all in Kansas.

Stretching for as far as the eye can see, the Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour is a formidable presence on the sleepy highways of rural Kansas.

Riding behind our ’63 Nova convertible is Forrest Tosie in his “Way Cool Mothers® Vortech Mustang.”

Not just any bird, but a 1970 Plymouth SuperBird Hemi.

Look what I stumbled across at a local truck stop.

A typical trucker’s shopping list: “I’ll take 100 gallons of diesel, Mothers® Mag &
Aluminum Polish, and a Dorothy and Toto action figure. No Dorothy and Toto? What kind of truck stop is this!”

Even a master mechanic like Mothers® Gary Turnau can get tongue-tied around an automotive legend like
Vic Edelbrock (pictured in the white polo shirt). Here we see Gary explain to Vic why he likes cars that are “really bright and shiny.”

I bet you didn’t know that Vic is an avid butterfly collector. Here we see a rare Insectus Extinctus proudly displayed
on the grille of his Ford Sedan Delivery.

“The Agricultural Hall of Fame.” Just down the road from “University of Bovine.”

The Kansas City stop before. . .

. . . and after the crowds arrived.

A Lamborghini Countach. Perfect for cruising the back roads of Kansas.

A closer look under the hood of the Mustang Cobra R concept car.

We originally though the Cobra R was based on a modular engine design. We were wrong. After a close examination by our
resident Mustang expert, Forrest Tosie, he concluded that the engine was in fact a 5.8 liter stroked to a 6.1 liter with Roush induction. Sorry mod fans.

We close the Kansas City stop with a group photo of your beloved Power Tour guides: (from left to right) Gary Turnau,
Forrest Tosie and your’s truly, Ken Holland.
